The Hovels has been redeveloped in recent years to create a flexible event space ideal for those looking for an intimate private hire venue in picturesque surroundings. The interiors combine both original and new features; stone, wood, glass and steel; the old and the new working together in perfect harmony.
The building is licensed for alcohol sales, wedding ceremonies and live music. It’s equipped with a professional kitchen, wood burner, projector and screen, accessible toilet, bar, reception area, and glazed atrium; plus it’s heated by renewable energy generated onsite. The building has a capacity of 80-120 guests and can be set up in a variety of formats, there is also a dedicated marquee site for larger events.



The Garden Lodge is located next to our historic Walled Garden, hence the name. It’s a cosy space featuring a generous main room with wood burner as well as a separate kitchen and toilet.
The building comfortably accommodates 20-25 people and can be set up in a range of formats, though we think boardroom style works best. It’s a great base for smaller meetings that might want to combine activities on the wider estate.
